Evergreen Public Welfare Foundation UK Social Enterprise Study Tour

January 26, 2018

We are busy at last meeting in London, UK. The first day trip of the British social enterprise inspection family and friends was full of success! !! As convener and head, I am very grateful and very happy!

The first station: British Embassy Culture and Education Headquarters

There are 600 employees in the headquarters building alone. It is really a huge organization. Art, education, and social enterprises are the main work areas. Knowing that IELTS is the cultural discipline and promoting English to the world is one of its tasks. The United Kingdom is the most developed and active country in social enterprises in the world. From 2009 to today, the Cultural and Education Section of the British Embassy has been adhering to the concept of social enterprises to all sectors of the society, and has organized a large number of social enterprise training courses. Nonprofit organizations benefit from it! As far as the development of social enterprises in China is concerned, the Culture and Education Division has contributed!

Coincidentally, we met Jack, who will be the head of the social enterprise sector that is about to be sent to China. Coincidentally, he just downloaded the "China Social Enterprise White Paper" written by my organization last year and published on the blog forum. See the page of the preface I wrote.

The second stop: Shoreditch trust

This is a community trust fund that is one of the ten poorest communities in the UK. The fund was established with the support of the government, and there are different project agencies under it. All profits are returned to the fund and continue to be used for community construction. Services include education, healthcare, women, environmental protection, childcare, reemployment, and more. The lunch place is the fund's water house, where chefs will train juvenile criminals and vulnerable families and teenagers to acquire cooking skills and social behavioral abilities so as to return to normal living conditions and obtain job opportunities. The restaurant design space and the use of materials have fully taken into account environmental protection needs.

The third station: Londn Early Years Foundation

This is the most important stop of my trip. I stumbled upon an introduction to this institution two years ago. From that moment, I look forward to this day. I can come face to face with his CEO, Joan. Exchange, let "Yifu community children's sports hall" and "LEYF" become international partners, the effort is worth the effort, this time finally achieved the wish! What's more exciting is that I am not alone, my friends can experience the charm of social entrepreneurs with me and see a successful case!

Can you imagine that this institution has 400 employees, has opened 26 kindergartens in the UK, earns £ 12,000,000 a year, and has 2,500 children receiving their services and assistance every day, including the children of the Prime Minister? . 60% of children come from wealthy families to pay an average of 1,300 pounds per month, and 40% of children come from poor and poor families to pay a small fee or free of charge. At present all the profits of the institution plus the social investment of £ 1,500,000 just received are all used for redevelopment, for team building, infrastructure reconstruction and information technology network platform.

Love has no boundaries, and the wisdom generated by love is the same. I was surprised that our thoughts are highly similar, even Joan and I are very similar in character, with the same passion, humor, heartiness, and determination. I also couldn't help feeling excited. I also introduced to Qiong the situation of such non-profit organizations as China Science and Technology Qingyun Experimental School, Emirate Community Children's Sports Center and Pickup Bookstore, as well as the attention paid by the relevant state departments to early childhood development. I warmly invited her. Come to China for international cooperation.

The day after arriving in London, an absolute harvest day! Too many familiar strangers, new friends with deep roots, powerful energy fields!

The first station: British Cabinet Office of Government Innovation

In the Treasury Building located at No.1 Downing Street, I exchanged with my friends in charge of social investment and finance for a whole morning, and had a deep understanding of a series of key points and development ideas about large social capital, social influence bonds, and preferential tax policies for social investment.

The second stop: the soldiers are divided into two ways, learning the community women's mutual aid fund all the way, and continuing to explore the business model of community nursery all the way

I participated in the second group and visited the nursery in the office building of the House of Lords. It was very interesting. Sometimes it was even open late. Members of parliament and parents discussed voting and children played in the kindergarten. This kindergarten is mainly for high-end customers, with higher fees, and the profits are used to support tuition replenishment of other poor families. Joan of the London Children's Foundation was very pleased to accept my invitation and was willing to come to China to cooperate. "Emillion Futures" will build an open international network with them to provide a platform for colleagues from all over the world to learn from each other.

Three stops: YBI

With the introduction of a local friend, we visited Mr Andrew, the CEO of the Global Youth Entrepreneurship Initiative (YBI) under the Prince Charles Foundation. He was a banker, and this elegant British gentleman now appears to be a full-time professional Nonprofit! Among the local institutions distributed in 40 regions around the world, China's YBC is the most influential and the largest one. Ms. Gu Liping has contributed!

During the exchange, the group members further understood their respective public welfare undertakings and appreciated each other even more. The climax continued, especially after hearing a lot of introductions from Yanran Hospital, the group members were unanimous and did not know how to do so many good things. For good deeds, you still have to keep your name, say it aloud, spread positive energy, and share operating experience.

During the climax of the talks, Yapeng quickly reached a consensus with YBI. The youth inn he donated in Ali will cooperate with YBC Ali to help young people there start their own businesses. And Mr. Sun Ziqiang, the president of the Asia-Pacific region of SK Group, the second largest global 500 company in South Korea, also expressed his willingness to start discussions on the establishment of South Korean YBI without even ruling out the possibility of global cooperation. SK Group currently has branches in 47 countries.
